Class 10 Exams Postponed By Telangana Again

HYDERABAD: The state government of Telangana has yet again postponed the class 10 examinations which were to take place from Monday, June 8 i.e. tomorrow.

The education minister of the state, P Sabita Indra Reddy made an announcement on the night of Saturday, June 7 declaring the postponement. The high court had earlier granted permission to the state to conduct the remaining exams of class 10, except for the area of Greater Hyderabad due to the massive number of COVID-19 cases.

The minister further revealed that the decision to delay the exams was made while keeping in mind the observations high court made. She also mentioned that now the Chief Minister of the state, K. Chandrashekhar Rao will announce regarding the future course of action in terms of exams during a meeting scheduled for Monday, June 8.

As the government will make its final decision, it will very likely consider the suggestion by the high court to grade the students on the basis of how they performed in their current session instead of marking them on the basis of the exam due to the dire circumstance the nation is in due to the coronavirus.

As per the announcement which was made on May 22, the exams were scheduled from June 8 to July 5.
