NEW YORK: President of the United States, Donald Trump is not happy with WHO or the World Health Organisation as it didn't give proper advice and favoured China over America as he implied that he'll be double-checking the WHO funding from the US.
"The W.H.O. really blew it. for some reason, funded largely by the USA, yet very China-centric. we are going to be giving that a decent look. Fortunately, I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early. Why did they provide us with such a faulty recommendation?" Trump wrote on Tuesday amid the spiralling death figures within the US.
The COVID-19 pandemic has killed over 12,700 Americans and affected around 400,000 across all 50 states of the country.
Trump ordered travel restrictions on people coming back from China in January to avoid further spread of the Coronavirus in America but the WHO opposed the move at the time, as did some Democrats et al. , as per some reports.
As the virus got detected first in China, originating from Wuhan during December of last year (2019), almost 4,30,000 individuals came from China to the US, this included 40,000 ever since the ban was initiated. WHO understated the intensity of the outbreak circumstance.
"Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission," the group was observed tweeting during mid-January.
It took an entire week for the agency to reverse that misinformation, as per an esteemed daily.
