MUMBAI: After wooing everyone by portraying the role of Prerna Sharma in the popular remake of 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', actress Erica Fernandes has voiced her opinions regarding the importance of having healthy mental health during these dark times of a pandemic and lockdowns.
While sharing her routine the actress said, "I ’ve added meditation and yoga to my routine amid the lockdown, and they’ve proved really effective, as they’ve helped me keep calm and handle the current situation better. These times are quite challenging, and something that our generation hasn’t encountered before. So, to be mentally at peace and physically strong is extremely important, and meditating and practising yoga is the key to achieving both these things."
She also shared her views regarding how she is against the mistreatment of frontline workers, "However, it has been disturbing to read about the ill-treatment towards the front-line workers. They are working during these tough times, and need to be treated with the utmost respect."
Fernandez also shared how one can help stop such atrocities in today's world and times. It can be done by not indulging in forwarding unethical messages or the messages you aren't sure are true or not. She revealed, "These forwards have been doing the rounds for quite some time, and have resulted in unnecessary stress. So, the best thing I can do is not engage in anything of this sort."
She concluded by mentioning to take care of one's mental health in these highly unexpected times, "What’s also important right now is taking care of one’s mental health, especially because we haven’t experienced something like this – being cooped up at home – before. Talking about what’s on your mind with a loved one or a professional can help people cope better with the situation."
