Joaquin's 'Joker' Had An Alternative Ending And It's Shocking!

One of the biggest highlights of 2019 was Joaquin Phoenix's 'Joker'. After a mesmerizing trailer release that left moviegoers in anticipation, Joker delivered and became a critically hit wonder.

Todd Phillips' Joker ended on a disturbing note with Arthur going all-out on the crazy, but the filmmakers had another, equally horrifying ending on the cards. We will give you a minute to let your imaginations run wild.....the ending will still take you by surprise.

Recently, in a Fatman Beyond podcast, filmmaker Kevin Smith claimed there was an alternative ending panned out for the movie.

In the original ending, a random rioter follows Thomas and Martha Wayne into an alley and kills them, leaving a young Bruce Wayne (who then goes on to become Batman) behind.

However, in the other ending, Joker kills Thomas and Martha and doesn't spare Bruce. Joker kills future Batman!!

As per Smith:

"Originally, the ending in the hospital was different. He's in the hospital and he laughs, chuckles, and he says, ‘I was just thinkin' of something funny'. What was supposed to happen was you flashed back to the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne, and it was him (Joker) killing Thomas and Martha Wayne and the boy was screaming and crying and he turned to walk away and he turned back, shrugged, and shot the kid. Yikes! Even in a parallel universe Joker killing kid-Batman is unfathomable.

Smith came to know of the ending through someone "who works in the business" and called it "reliable information". He said, "It was too f***ing good not to share and I f***ing hope it's true".

Deservingly, Phoenix is in the run for an Oscar for Best Actor.
