MUMBAI: After the successful release of 'Street Dancer 3D', Varun Dhawan is all set to star again on the silver screen with his second release of this year, which is 'Coolie No. 1', a remake of the original film from the year 1995. Like the original, the remake is also being directed by 'David Dhawan', Varun's father. The team wrapped up the shoot of the film in Goa recently.
As people are getting excited to see Varun as a coolie in the film, the actor took the initiative to expose to the world who the real coolies are! Dhawan retweeted an image from the official account of the Indian Railways. It contained the picture of women coolies, assisting passengers by carrying their luggage to their trains. The caption said, "Working for Indian Railways, these lady coolies have proved that they are second to none !! We salute them !!"
While retweeting the picture, the actor mentioned these words, "Yeh hain #coolieno1"
(They are the real coolie no. 1)
It is always refreshing to see celebrities using their social media handles to divert the public to the ground-breaking realities of life while also maintaining a balance between entertaining the audience with their work. Kudos to you, Varun!
Only a few days ago, a wrap party was organised by filmmaker David Dhawan for the soon-to-release film. It was indeed a star-studded affair. Karishma Kapoor, the leading lady of the original film also visited the party and even shared a group picture on her social media. She captioned it, "The OG's"
The film will release on 1 May 2020 and also stars Sara Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal and Javed Jaffrey in major roles.
