Even as the World Health Organization declares the outbreak of Coronavirus from China a global threat, US President Donald Trump says that it is " very well under control."
On Thursday, Trump said that the United States was working very closely with China which is the originating source of the virus and that he believed all was under control.
During a speech at an auto parts manufacturer in Warren, Michigan, Trump said: “We’re working very closely with (China) and with a lot of other people and a lot of other countries.”
“We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment,” he said.
The virus that originated from the Chinese city of Wuhan in December is now steadily making its way across border lines with Coronavirus cases being reported from France, Australia, Canda, and India among others.
As of now, the number of reported cases from China are more than 7,800 cases including 204 deaths.
WHO's declaration of a global emergency will open doors for more funds and resources to combat the virus.
Amidst increasing reported cases, Russia announced on Thursday that it was closing its border with China to prevent the spread of the virus and would stop issuing electronic visas to Chinese nationals.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, “We have to do everything to protect our people.”
