SAN FRANCISCO: As the situation pandemic has managed to have an adverse effect on everyone's sleep cycle in the past couple of months, tech giant, Google has revealed new tools for bedtime in Android phones in order to help them get proper sleep.
There is a 'Bedtime Mode', which was earlier known as the 'Wind Down' mode in the option called 'Digital Wellbeing' settings. With this, your android supported smartphone will stay quiet and dark when you are sleeping.
A statement released by the multi-million dollar company said, "While Bedtime mode is on, it uses Do Not Disturb to silence calls, texts and other notifications that might disturb your sleep. Grayscale fades the colours on your phone to black and white to reduce the draw from enticing colours that keep you up."
It was also revealed that terms like 'insomnia' and 'can't sleep' were amongst the most searched phrases along with other sleep-related terms during the month of April and May.
Google mentioned that it has made the Bedtime mode more convenient and also customisable in terms of turning the feature on and off.
As per the bedtime schedule, a user has the option of it getting activated as soon as the phone is switched on or after the phone is plugged in for charging purposes.
The aforementioned mode is available on all the devices which have 'Digital Wellbeing' and parental control settings.
Daily sleep and wake up time can also be set in the Bedtime tab present within the Clock app, in order to maintain a steady sleep schedule.
The Larry Page owned company said, "In Clock, you'll see a preview of tomorrow''s calendar and a tally of the total hours of sleep you'd get, and you can adjust your bedtime if needed."
Along with this, people will also get reminders before its bedtime and the choice to play soothing sounds from apps like Youtube Music, Calm, Spotify and so on.
