The feature of ‘Airtel WiFi Calling’ is being used by over 1 million users. Airtel was the first brand to release this feature. Brands like Vodafone and Jio also have the facility of WiFi audio calls. Users with an Airtel connection can now connect over any WiFi, home or public to make calls.
WiFi connections are said to be more efficient than data networks as they are backed up by wireless broadband connections. Which means, cell network signals can disappear in certain location but WiFi facility remains as it is limited to a specific area. WiFi calls have also proven to have less call drops and clear audio. It’s also free of cost. 
Airtel has collaborated with many smartphone producing companies to make it’s WiFi calling feature compatible with their cellphone models.
