Do you remember the device that Honor launched specifically for gaming?

Yes, We are talking about the Honor Play. The device was launched by Honor last year with a flagship-grade processor Kirin 970 optimized for performance and gaming.

The device was going well in sales and users were happily using it until the Poco F1 was launched by Xiaomi under their sub-brand Poco. Poco F1 featured better specifications at a better price point which attracted a lot of users.

Later Poco F1 was reported with a number of problems like Screen bleeding, ghost touch, edge lag, etc. This is when Honor Play users became a little happy.

Well not anymore, Huawei has made a lot of users unhappy by revealing that they will soon start rolling out Android 10-based EMUI 10 to at least 33 Honor and Huawei devices and Honor Play is not on the list. Honor Play will not receive the Android 10 update.

Official Statement from Huawei:

“We regret to inform you that EMUI 10.0 / Android Q will not be available for your device due to hardware limitations as it requires higher hardware specifications for optimal performance. We appreciate your understanding and patience”.

A user tweeted regarding the same and this is what he got as a reply:

Honor said that the Honor Play is not powerful enough to handle an upgrade over the existing version of the OS running in it. Also, Poco F1 is going to receive the Android 10 update soon.

There are devices with similar specifications that are up for the Android 10 update. Let's see if Huawei cares to explain this.
