NEW DELHI: Shakshi Dhoni, the wife of Mahendra Singh Dhoni disregarded and slammed the rumours regarding her husband's retirement from the international cricket scene.
On the evening of May 27, the rumour mill regarding Dhoni's retirement had kicked into high gear as some users began making use of the hashtag '#DhoniRetires' on twitter. Although the avid followers of the ex Indian cricket team captain falsified these rumours.
Sakshi eventually took it to herself to school the users spreading baseless news and slammed the people responsible for circulating such lies.
In her tweet, she said, " Its only rumours! I understand Lockdown has made people mentally unstable! #DhoniRetires .. Get a life ! (sic)"
However, after a few minutes, she deleted what she had posted.
The rumours regarding the retirement of the former captain have been making rounds ever since the 2019 world cup semi-finals where the wicket-keeper played his last game and unfortunately, India lost.
His comeback in professional cricket was one of the highlights of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League 2020 which has now been postponed due to the rising coronavirus cases in India.
His performance in the annual league was supposed to decide his fate as fas as the Indian team is concerned.
Apart from this year's IPL, the chances of postponing the T20 World Cup also seem very likely. Hence the chances of Dhoni's return also seem dreary.
