KOLKATA: West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged the citizens on Wednesday to donate to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in order to combat the pandemic COVID-19. She also complained that the Centre is yet to give any fund and has not given even a "single pair of gloves".
Banerjee said, "The Centre hasn't even given us a single pair of gloves. We need huge funds to contain the disease. So I request everyone to come up with generous donations to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund."

She further explained that those who are willing to make donations can directly deposit to the concerned bank or can contact Sanjay Bansal, the Health Secretary, on 9051022000 or contact the email account [email protected].
She also requested to all those people who are now living abroad but have their roots in the state. "I request people from the state now staying abroad to also donate," Mamata said.
So far, the state has reported nine positive cases for the novel COVID-19 and out of them, one person has died.
