NEW DELHI: Bhartiya Janta Party's MP Gautam Gambhir slams his party colleague Kapil Mishra for his "unacceptable" speech on Sunday. He also demanded strict actions to be taken against all those people responsible, irrespective of their allegiance.

Gambhir, while visiting the hospital where the injured policemen were being treated, said, "This is unfortunate. Whoever has done this, strict action must be taken - whether from BJP, Congress or AAP. Kapil Mishra's speech is not acceptable. This is about Delhi not about any political party."

Further, he also questioned people's audacity that how can they stand with a pistol in front of police personnel. He was referring to the man identified as Mohammed Shahrukh who opened fire while approaching a policeman. He said, "Shaheen Bagh was a peaceful protest all this while. But Trump is here and there are violent protests happening here - this is not fair. Right to peaceful protest is okay. But picking up stones is not. How can you stand with a pistol in front of a cop?"

Ever since the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act broke out, BJP leader Kapil Mishra has been condemned for his insensitive speeches. On Sunday, a day before the horrific violence in the national capital, Mishra tweeted a video where he openly threatened to "not remain peaceful" and "hit the streets". He gave the Delhi Police a three-day ultimatum or rather a warning to wind-up the protests against CAA in the northeast of Delhi.

His tweet was followed by clashes in the mentioned part of Delhi between a number of people standing for and against the new citizenship law. Till now, seven people have been killed including a police officer and around 150 people are injured in the last two days.
