BJP MLA Sangeet Som Calls Tahir Hussain Terrorist; Asks To Shoot Him

MUZAFFARNAGAR: BJP MLA Sangeet Som called the suspended AAP councilor Tahir Hussain a terrorist. He also said that people like him should be shot dead publicly. 

On Thursday, Som said, "Aise log (Tahir Hussain) aatankwadi hai, aise logon ko chaurahe par khada karke goli maar deni chahiye (Tahir Hussain is a terrorist. He should be made to stand on a crossing and shot dead)."

Accused of being involved in the murder of an Intelligence Bureau officer, Ankit Sharma, Tahir Hussain was arrested on Thursday after his application for surrender and bail plea were rejected. 

Sangeet further said, "Whoever killed Ankit Sharma will get strong punishment. The government will also not take back CAA, no matter how much anyone opposes."

Som is an MLA from UP's Sardhana constituency and is accused that his fiery speeches during the Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013 incited mob. The communal clash took the lives of at least 60 people and displaced thousands. 

Anil Jindal, Som's lawyer, said, "Sangeet Som was booked under IT Act in 2013 at Khatauli police station. The court has now fixed April 15 as the next date of hearing in the matter."
