On Tuesday, State Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said that parks across Uttar Pradesh can be opened during the morning time, as directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Talking at a press conference, Awasthi said, “CM Yogi Adityanath has directed that parks across the state can be opened during morning time. So, today itself a decision will be taken on timings for the opening of parks. Concerned authorities will ensure that social distancing norms are strictly followed at parks.”
The chief minister also ordered patrolling at all important places including financial and industrial institutions. He added that the taxis should be allowed with two passengers and one driver at the airport.
Awasthi noted that around 17 lakh people have returned to Uttar Pradesh in more than 1265 trains.
“Around 17,00,728 people in more than 1265 trains have returned from different states till 2 pm today,” said Additional Chief Secretary Awasthi.
As per data released by the Directorate of Health Service, the state of Uttar Pradesh, so far, has reported 6724 cases of the deadly COVID-19. On Tuesday, a total of 229 cases of the highly infectious virus were reported in a single day.
Even as India is nearing the end of the nationwide lockdown, COVID-19 cases in the country continue to surge dramatically. So far, the country has reported more than 1,50,000 cases of the virus across the country. Meanwhile, the virus has killed 4,337 people.
Citizens need to be warned against dropping all caution with the end of the lockdown-- Lifting of the lockdown does not mean that the COVID-19 outbreak is over in the country. India has been on a nationwide lockdown since March 25 and will be ending its fourth phase on 31 March.
