On Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had some choice words for Modi and his government. Launching a sharp attack on the ruling party over the state of the country's economy, Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman had no idea on what to do next.

This war of words by Rahul comes just days ahead of the budget announcement. Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman will be presenting the second budget of her term on 1 February.

Rahul Gandhi took to his official Twitter handle and said “Modi and his dream team of economic advisors have literally turned the economy around. Earlier: GDP: 7.5%, Inflation: 3.5%. Now:GDP: 3.5, Inflation: 7.5%.”

“The PM and FM have absolutely no idea what to do next,” he tweeted with the hashtag ‘Budget 2020’.

Even as the Budget for the financial year 2020-21 is just days away, protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 continue. It will not be an exaggeration to say that the country is nearing a state of chaos with no solution in sight.
