NEW DELHI: Harsh Vardhan, the Union Health Minister organised a meeting with the officials belonging to the state of Gujarat and Maharashtra via video conferencing, in order to discuss the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The minister while speaking to the officials said that the circumstances are critical in these two states. At least 36 districts in total have been affected by the COVID-19 disease.

Harsh Vardhan said, "The condition of Maharashtra and Gujarat states in the country is a matter of worry for us also as 34 out of 36 districts are affected from coronavirus. There are at least 14,541 cases and 583 deaths that have been reported from here."
"I will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers also to discuss further course of action to control spread of the virus in the state," he further said.
The areas like Thane, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Pune, Nashik, Solapur and Mumbai have been severely affected whereas, Wardha and Gadchiroli have remained unaffected.
It was told to the officials by the minister, "We have to move towards the direction of making all the districts as green zones where no case would be reported in 21 days. This will be possible for us through a proactive approach and strong will power."
Minister of State (MoS) for Health and Family Welfare, Ashwani Kumar Choubey was also made part of the recently conducted meeting.

As per the figures of Health Ministry, Maharashtra and Gujarat are the states with most cases. Maharashtra has 15,525 cases whereas Gujarat has a total of 6.425 cases.
