NEW DELHI: States from all over the nation reported more than 6,500 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours for the 4th consecutive day. The total tally of the country is 1,45,380. The death toll also rose to 4,167 as 146 individuals lost their lives to this highly contagious and like endangering virus.
As far as the current cases are concerned, there are 80,722 active coronavirus cases as of now. However, other 60,490 individuals who got affected have made a complete recovery from the infection. The recovery rate of India in percentage is at 42.6%, as per Monday, May 26, the highest as of now.

Maharashtra has continued to be the state with the most cases. As of Monday, there are 2,436 new cases in the state. The total tally is at 52,667 and the fatality rate of the state is at 1,000. Maharashtra also contributed to 40% of the total deaths in the last 24 hours as it reported 60 recent fatalities.
Tamil Nadu is right behind Maharashtra in terms of being the most affected state. A total of 805 coronavirus patients were detected in the state in the last 24 hours, the highest spike yet. The total number of cases in Tamil Nadu is 17,082.
Gujarat also observed 404 new cases in the last 24 hours. The coronavirus deaths have continued to rise in that particular state as 30 people died the past day. The new deaths increased the total death toll of Gujarat to 888.
The eastern state of Nagaland also reported it's first-ever coronavirus case on Monday, May 25. Three individuals who came back from Chennai were found to be COVID-19 positive. Before this, Nagaland was the only state to have no COVID-19 cases.

The Health Ministry has reported that the country has increased its production of PPEs (Personal Protection Equipment). As per the ministry, "Today, the country is producing more than three lakh PPEs and N95 masks per day."
