NEW DELHI: While normalcy is starting to spread in the Northeastern parts of the national capital that were possessed with violence just two-days ago, no one can bring back the 34 people who lost their lives in the tragic riots that stemmed from intolerance, hatred, and illiteracy.

The post-mortem report of the 26-year-old Intelligence Bureau (IB) official whose body was pulled out of a drain near his home has revealed the blood-lust mentality of the mob that killed him. The autopsy showed that Ankit Sharma was brutally stabbed to death.

His body has “multiple abrasion... deep cuts... by sharp edge objects," stated the report. The doctors who carried out the post-mortem said that the young IB security assistant was stabbed multiple times.

Sharma lived in Chand Bagh in Northeast Delhi and had gone out of his home on Tuesday to see what was happening in his locality when he was dragged by a mob inside a building owned by AAP leader Tahir Hussain. The violence in Delhi was at its peak on Tuesday. When he did not return home, his family members started visiting police stations and hospitals in search of him. Next morning, on Wednesday, his body was uncovered from a drain near his house.

The family named AAP councillor Tahir Hussain behind the killing of their son and an FDI was lodged. The locals also alleged that Hussain was responsible to inciting the mob to kill Sharma.

AAP has suspended Hussain till the time investigation is complete. The party also took to its official Twitter handle to say: “Any person who is found guilty should be given stringent punishment. If any Aam Aadmi Party person is found guilty then that person should be given double the punishment. There should be no politics on the issue of national security,”

Responding to their tweet, BJP's Manoj Tiwari said: “Double punishment means now Tahir as well as his boss should be punished severely... the accused and plotters of this case should be hanged in the stipulated time frame... Stabbing an IB officer 400 times with a knife? Religious intolerance has made you act so low."

Petrol bomb bottles, acid pouches, and stones scattered on the rooftop and inside of Tahir Hussains's house in Chand Bagh were uncovered.

Ankit Sharma was cremated on Thursday in Muzaffarnagar in western Uttar Pradesh, Thousands of people gathered to pay their respects to the IB officer.

“No one will be spared in the Delhi violence case, irrespective of any party,” Union minister Sanjeev Balyan, who attended the last rites of Ankit Sharma, said.
