UNNAO: A total number of 2 migrant labourers lost their lives while 20 others suffered injuries on Monday, May 18 as a vehicle carrying them to Azamgarh from Delhi got overturned in Behda Mujawar region which falls in the expressway of Agra-Lucknow, as per the police.
The accident took place near the area called Gauria Kalan. Vikrant Veer Singh, the Superintendent of Police mentioned that the departed labourers have been identified as Ramji, aged 28 and Surendra Kumar Anchal, who was 40 years old.

The rest of the migrants who were injured in the accident were hospitalised immediately and are said to be quite stable.
Yogi Adiyanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh addressed the incident and further announced a compensation worth rupees 2 lakh to the families of the ones who lost their lives. The injured victims will also get Rs 50,000 each.
It was also appealed by Adityanath that the district authorities should make sure the best treatment is given to the injured migrants.

Another incident took place in the state of Uttar Pradesh a few days ago where a trailer truck which was carrying sacks of lemon and 43 individuals and a stationary truck collided with a number of migrant labourers sitting in the vehicle. It happened on the national highway in Auraiya.
