It was indeed a day of pure attainment for ‘Joker’ actor Joaquin Phoenix as he won ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama’, one of the highest honours at the 77th Golden Globe awards that took place on 5th January, 2020.
Although the fans of the actor seem extremely happy for his win, they are completely outraged at the organisers of the award ceremony. This is because Phoenix’s acceptance speech got cut short when he came to accept the award. Phoenix very boldly called out people from the industry for flying in and out during award seasons in their private jets at such a gruesome time of climate change. He also discussed the ongoing Australian bushfires. Before he could go any further with his hard hitting opinions and concerns, the showrunners played the ‘it’s time to wrap the speech up music’ and the actor had to walk away from the stage.

In case anyone remembers, this is exactly the kind of thing that happened in the movie and all hell broke loose and we got to witness the real Joker. After delivering an extremely challenging performace that sent chills down the spine, the man deserved to be heard.
