MUMBAI: 'Bunty Aur Babli' has made a special place in the hearts of people due to its humor, emotion and a lovely cast. The film released in 2005 and now Yash Raj banner has announced its sequel with Siddhant Chaturvedi and debutant Shervari filling in the shoes of Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji.
The production house took to Twitter to announce the sequel of the 2005's release. They wrote, "Meet the new Bunty Aur Babli! @SiddhantChturvD | #Sharvari | #BuntyAurBabli2 | #VarunSharma."
Siddhant Chaturvedi, who rose to fame after debuting as MC Sher in Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy', is all set and excited to play the role of Bunty. On the other hand, the female lead Sharvari will be making her big debut with this upcoming project.
'Bunty Aur Babli 2' will be written and directed by Varun Sharma. Talking about his movie, Sharma was all praises for the cast of the movie. He said,
"Bunty Aur Babli 2 is completely set in today’s time. Siddhant caught everyone’s eye with his brilliant acting debut in Gully Boy and became the heartthrob of the nation. We are very excited to have him play the role of Bunty. He is a superb actor, is extremely charming and he fits the role perfectly.
Sharvari is an extremely special actress to watch out for. She is a powerful performer and you have to watch her on-screen to understand what we mean. Given the film and the roles, they are definitely the perfect casting. They are a fresh, hot pair and their chemistry and energy are infectious."
The original movie was a Shaad Ali directorial, written and produced by Aditya Chopra under the same banner. The characters of Rani and Abhishek (Saluja and Rakesh) started conning people under fake identities of Bunty and Babli. 'Bunty Aur Babli' also starred Amitabh Bachchan who plays the role of a cop and is assigned to catch those bluff masters.
