The Cast Of 'Gully Boy' Celebrates One Year Anniversary Of The Film

MUMBAI: Exactly one year ago, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar gifted the world with the gem that is ‘Gully Boy’. The film came out on 2019 Valentine’s Day. The film was immensely liked and even was India’s official submission for the 2020 Oscars.

Actors Vijay Varma and Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Divine, who is a rapper from whose life the film is heavily inspired from, shared their thoughts through social media as to how much the film means to them.

It was the debut film of Siddhant Chaturvedi, he played the role of MC Sher in the film. He took to Instagram to share a series of pictures with the hashtag #OneYearOfGullyBoy. One such picture contained the caption “Ek saal mein sirf meri hi nahi, bohoton ki Zindagi badal di.

 When asked about the occasion, he mentioned, “Life has changed, now I'm shooting for films as a lead hero in the industry back to back with the biggest banners, out there with some of the biggest directors. Vijay Varma also got showered with a lot of love by the public as he portrayed the role of ‘Moeen Bhai’, who had a grey personality. Vijay stated, “Life has been extremely beautiful and eventful since Gully Boy released in Feb 2019. I am really in the thick of things, creating a lot of stuff. Everything else, apart from work, has taken a back seat. Now, it's been constant work and I am really enjoying the work right now.”

Divine also shared his perspective and how has life been since the film’s release, “Life after 'Gully Boy' is the same as it was before the release of the film. I am still walking in the same gully, we are doing the same things. It's only upgraded because we're getting the bigger stages, bigger venues and bigger opportunities and I am very thankful to God."
