MUMBAI: Sidharth Malhotra is celebrating his 35th birthday on 16th January. However, it was he himself who gave his fans a pleasant surprise by sharing the posters and his first look from his upcoming movie 'Shershaah'.
Sharing three posters on his Instagram handle, Sid wrote, "An absolute honor to be able to paint the big screen with the shades of bravery & sacrifice. Paying an ode to the journey of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) and bringing the UNTOLD TRUE STORY with #Shershaah Releasing 3rd July, 2020."

The movie is a biopic of Captain Vikram Batra whose code name was Shershaah and was a Kargil Hero. The captain selflessly served the country while recapturing Indian territories after Pakistan's intrusion during the 1999 Kargil war. He was also awarded India's highest military honor, Param Vir Chakra.
'Shershaah' is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Production and is a Vishnu Varadhan directorial. It also stars Sidharth's rumored girlfriend Kiara Advani in a prominent role. It will be releasing on 3rd July 2020.
Talking about the film and how close he is to it, the Jabariya Jodi star in an interview said, "Everyone knows about his heroic stories from newspapers and articles. When you meet people who have lived with him, his family or have known him personally, you feel an immense kind of pressure. First, you hope to do justice to his personal life and family. It’s something that is very close to my heart. It’s like a passion project. It’s being directed by Vishnu Vardhan, who is a prolific director from the south. He is making his Hindi debut with this film."
