MUMBAI: After the announcement of cinema halls being shut in the regions of Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi and Kerala, the makers have decided that 'Angrezi Medium' will be re-releasing in these parts after the halls get re-open.
The announcement came on Thursday that schools, colleges and cinema halls will be shut down till 31st March in these regions because of the novel coronavirus. While films like 'Sooryavanshi' immediately announced that the release is being postponed for an indefinite time, 'Angrezi Medium' was on the verge of its release date and thus, the makers went ahead with it.
Without mentioning the re-release date, the producer of the film, Dinesh Vijan said, " 'Angrezi Medium' has been a journey I shall cherish all my life. The one thing I've learned from its making is that whatever be the obstacle if we pour our heart and soul into something, the universe will have our back. As the film now reaches India, we have already received unabashed love from Dubai and other international territories. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it will however not release in Kerala, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. We hope for the same affection and support you've been giving us since day one. Our movie will reach these places when the time is right, but rest assured, just like Irrfan said, 'wait for us',"
Earlier, makers released a statement stating that the movie is receiving an exceptional amount of love. It read, "'Angrezi Medium' opens exceptionally in Dubai! The movie is released as scheduled across India except for - Kerala, Delhi and UT of Jammu & Kashmir. The makers will be releasing the movie in these respective regions once the theatres re-open. The movie has been appreciated by the critics and is sure to fill your hearts with love and laughter."
'Angrezi Medium' released in India on 13th March except for these three regions. The movie revolves around the story of a father (Irrfan Khan) and a daughter (Radhika Madan) and how the father goes beyond his limit to make his daughter's dream come true.
