MUMBAI: Actress and soon to be mommy Kalki Koechlin recently visited Kareena Kapoor's radio show 'What Women Want'. Amongst several topics discussed between the girls, there came the topic of Kalki's ex-husband Anurag Kashyap with whom she shares a very friendly relationship now.
Talking about her current equation with the director, Kalki revealed that it took time for both of them to reach that stage of the relationship which they share in the present time. She said, "It just sort of happened organically. It took time. We did take a lot of time apart in the beginning. But ultimately, I think we have respect for each other’s work. You can still love a person and not be able to live with them, and I think we were both able to recognize that."
The duo got married in the year 2011 but their marriage did not last more than a couple of years. They went their own ways after announcing separation in 2013 and got divorced in 2015. Kalki was only 25 years old when she tied the knot. Referring to timing then that "just wasn't right", she added, "Also, it’s so much about timing, right? I feel sometimes, you are both just on very different time zones. Like, maybe I was very young and he was much older, and the timing just wasn’t correct. We wanted different things at that point. I think that makes a big difference."
Now, the two are happily secured in their personal life. Kashyap is in a relationship with Shubra Shetty who was also his associate at the Phantom Films which no longer is functional. Kalki, on the other hand, is all set to welcome her first baby with boyfriend Guy Hershberg.
Earlier, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress also revealed how her ex-husband reacted to her pregnancy news. She said that Kashyap welcomed her in the parents' club and told her to call whenever she needs anything.
Kalki was last seen in Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy'. She was also seen in Zee 5's horror series 'Bhram'.
