Mumbai: John Abraham's look in his upcoming movie Mumbai Saga has been revealed by the makers. The actor, who is playing a gangster, will be seen in an intense avatar in Sanjay Gupta directorial film.

Sharing John's look from the movie, Sanjay Gupta tweeted, "One of my favourite moments from MUMBAI SAGA. And of course Mr. Abraham like never before.”

John is all set to play the role of a gangster in the period gangster drama which also stars Emraan Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Kajal Aggarwal and Prateik Babbar.

In the photo shared by the makers John is seen giving some harsh looks. The actor is seen portraying a simple period villain image in a 'Kurta Payjama and 'Kolhapuri Chappal' look, putting a 'Tilak' (vermillion mark) on his forehead. The movie will have Emraan Hashmi in the role of a Police Officer. His look has already been revealed last year.

Speaking about the movie, the director stated that the movie is a real picture of what made Mumbai city what it looks like today. "It makes for a compelling story, which will make you go, ‘Oh my God'!”

Meanwhile, John had put his shoot on a halt due to a severe injury. Sanjay stated that an action sequence from the flick aggravated the injury that John already had. “He didn’t tell us about the injury and dived into an action sequence, in the process, aggravating it. The last two-week shoot has a lot of stunts so, we will resume after he’s completely recovered, sometime next month”, he said.

Sanjay Gupta is a well known director when it comes to explaining the tale of gangsters to the audience. He has, in the past, directed quite a few such films including 'Shootout at Wadala' and 'Shootout at Lokhandwala'. The Bollywood director, however, is reinventing his working style for this project including some changes in the directorial team as well.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sangiita Ahir and Anuradha Gupta and is expected to hit the theatres on June 19, 2020.
