After being MIA for almost 2 years, Filmmaker Anurag Basu is all set to make a grand comeback. This became apparent when the poster of his upcoming release ‘Ludo’ got unveiled in the world of social media. The film stars Abhishek Bachan, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Both ‘Dangal’ debutant Sanya Malhotra and ‘The Sky Is Pink’ fame Rohit Saraf shared the official poster of the movie on their Instagram handles.
The poster appears as a board of the game Ludo, with the beautiful hues of red, green, blue and yellow splitting across the screen. In one of the corners, you can see Abhishek Bachchan in deep slumber with a little girl. Towards the right, Rajkumar Rao is visible playing what seems to be a mouth organ. At the bottom section, which is blue in colour, the poster features Rohit Saraf lying peacefully on the floor with someone who is probably Fatima Sana Sheikh. At last, in the yellow section, Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapoor are lying in a bed.
It is also alleged that the upcoming film is a sequel to ‘Life In A Metro’ which came out in the year 2007. The yet to release film will highlight the inescapable troubles of life, featuring 4 unconventional stories with a huge reference to the Indian Metros.
The star cast has also been hinting towards the film through various posts.
Sometime during October 2018, Abhishek Bachchan took to Instagram to share a silhouette of Anurag Basu with the caption, “Renaissance man! Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Host, Actor, chef, writer and dancer. Anything left dada?” The director also shot key parts of the film with Bachchan in various areas of Kolkata and Mumbai back in 2018.
Rajkumar Rao also teased the film through a Twitter post on Instagram which said: “बहुत जल्दी सामने आयेंगे आप लोगों के। तब तक के लिए एक झलक। #AnuragBasu sir’s next with @fattysanashaikh.” (We will reveal to you soon, meanwhile here is a glimpse. #AnuragBasu sir’s next with @fattysanashaikh )
When ‘Badhai Ho’ lead Sanya Malhotra was asked about the project in a recent interview, she expressed "There are some directors whose worlds you simply wish to be part of.” She also didn’t fail to mention that when the script came her way, she was so excited that she immediately said yes without even taking a look at the script.
Ludo, which will be produced by Anurag Basu Productions, Bhushan and Divya Khosla Kumar from T Series, is said to hit the theatres on 24th April 2020.
