Jawaharlal Nehru University, which is situated in New Delhi, has extended its registration date for it’s even semester to 15th January 2020. Even semester is also known as the winter semester. The date has been extended for the second time this year. Before this, the registration was supposed to take place on 5th January 2020. It later got extended to 12th January 2020.
A notice was released by the university on 12th January 2020 stating that the students can now register by 15th January. No late fine will be incurred before this.
Today, i.e. on 13th January 2020 the reason for this delay was announced. The extension of the registration date has taken place as the university’s CIS ( communication and information service) systems were rigorously damaged by the university students due to their disapproval regarding the hostel fee hike which led to protests.
