J&K; Govt. To Give Internships At IITs and IISERs To Students From the State

JAMMU: An MOU has been signed between the government of Jammu and Kashmir and four IITs to grant 2 months internships to final year students pursuing the science stream from various colleges situated in J&K for the academic year 2020-2021. Around 500 candidates will be eligible for this opportunity.

The memorandum was signed in New Delhi between Talat Parvez, the secretary of Higher Education Department of J&K and a representative from AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). This opportunity will help in enhancing the employability skills of the candidates.

During the internship period, the students will be exposed to highly advanced research in the area of technology and science. The esteemed faculty from the institutions will also be there to guide the students.

Students belonging to either undergraduate courses or postgraduate courses of the final year are eligible to apply for the opportunity.

IITs of cities like Ropar, Bhubneshwar, Pune, and Guwahati, along with IISER Orisa, Pune and Kolkata have been made part of the MOU. The MoU was signed at the presence of Union Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal from the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The living, travelling and tuition expenses of the students will be taken care of by the funds provided by AICTE and host institutions. Students will be selected on merit basis.
