NEW DELHI: All the remaining board exams have been postponed by the CBSE as the nation is under the wrath of the fatal COVID-19 virus. The board made the announcement on 18 March 2020 resulting in all the exams between the date of March 19 to March 31 getting postponed for class 10 and 12 students.
CBSE made the decision as it got orders from the secretary of the Department of Higher Education. School Education and Literacy for doing so.
The board released a statement which read, "All ongoing examinations of the board for classes 10 and 12, being held in examination centres in India and abroad, and scheduled between 19.03.2020 to 31.03.2020 (both dates inclusive), shall be rescheduled after 31st March 2020."
The news of the postponement will further affect the students of Delhi, who could not appear for their exams when riots were taking place in the north-east district of the capital city. It was announced that rescheduling would take place for the students unable to come to write their papers with exam centres in riot-effected areas. After the announcement of exams getting further postponed, students of the area will have to appear for the subject which was missed during the riots as well as the subjects being rescheduled now due to the pandemic outbreak.
The board also mentioned that evaluation also won't be taking place during this time period.
"Rescheduled dates will be communicated by the board to all its stakeholders by March 31 after re-assessment of the situation," CBSE said.
