The US Dollar Rises As Investor's Risk Appetite Increases

New York, Feb 5: As investor's risk appetite increased, the US dollar's rate rose. The Japanese yen and Swiss franc all weekend against the greenback for the day on Tuesday. 

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased 0.16 per cent at 97.9583 in late trading.

In late New York trading, the euro fell to US $1.1042 from US $1.1063 in the previous session, and the British pound increased to US $1.3037 from US $1.2997 in the previous session. The Australian US dollar was up to US $0.6736 from US $0.6688.

The US dollar bought 109.49 Japanese yen, higher than 108.68 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar rose to 0.9696 Swiss franc from 0.9660 Swiss franc, and it decreased to 1.3283 Canadian dollars from 1.3295 Canadian dollars.
