NEW DELHI: Indian international cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is most likely to initiate his new innings as a commentator for the Day-Night Test match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Dhoni's last international match was India vs New Zealand (semifinal of the ICC World Cup) in England. Since then Dhoni has not played any international cricket and he has not spoken anything about it too.
Dhoni as a commentator is not finalized yet as according to a BCCI source:
"Yes, the broadcasters have sent the proposal but no decision has been taken as of now... If BCCI gives the permission, then Dhoni would be seen doing commentary in day-night Test to be played at the Eden Gardens. "
BCCI i.e Board of Control for Cricket in India is yet to give permission for the same but the chances are in favour of MS Dhoni for obvious reasons.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has agreed to the proposal of BCCI to play a day-night Test match on October 29. The second test match will begin from November 22 and the match will be played as a day-night test match at Eden Gardens. The match will be between India and Bangladesh.
It will be really good to see MS Dhoni being a part of a test match again.
If we talk about retired players or let's say the players that are inside the field cricket players often face a lot of pressure while playing as they fear they may lose their place if they don't perform. Yuvraj Singh has recently requested a player's association for the players.
According to him, support should be given to the players because they deserve it. Players are often asked to play even when they are injured.
He even gave an example "We see outside India if players are fatigued and tired mentally like is the case with (Glenn) Maxwell, he has taken a break because he is feeling it."
"Our players can't do that because they fear they may lose their place. So a players' association is very important. "
