INDVSL T20I: Kohli Finishes Off In Dhoni Style As India Lead The Series

INDORE: India wins the second match of the three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka and captain Kohli finished off with a massive six, reminding us of captain cool MS Dhoni. Team India took a lead in the series by 1-0 as the first match had to be abandoned due to wet pitch.

The match at the Indore's Holkar Stadium marked another victory for the Virat Kohli squad as they defeated Sri Lankans by 7 wickets with 15 balls to spare. The absence of India's star bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave a chance to Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur to prove their brilliance. They did use this opportunity and powered India to win the match.

India won the toss and asked the opponents to bat first. Sri Lankans did try to put a big total on the scoreboard but Indian bowlers restricted them to 142 runs and took big nine wickets.

Saini was named the man of the match as his innings of 2 wickets for just 18 runs created a panic for the visitors. Shardul, on the other hand, bowled fantastically in the last over where he took three wickets, two wickets of the last two balls of first innings. The Lasith Malinga led squad was desperate to hit boundaries but in return kept on losing wickets quickly.

The batting line-up was stable in the performance leading the team to a total of 144 runs in just 17.3 overs. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Kohli batted well securing their team's position in the lead for the series. Also, with this match, Kohli surpassed his teammate Rohit Sharma and became the top T20I run-scorer.

The last match of the series will be played on 10th January, hosted by Pune. As the odds are against the comparatively inexperienced Sri Lanka, we are sure that India will bring this trophy as well.
