Numbers Favor BJP Ahead Of Floor Test In Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: As Madhya Pradesh's Kamal Nath government prepared for the vote of confidence after the orders of the Supreme court, the current statistics of the Assembly are favoring the BJP. Congress as well the Bhartiya Janta Party, both have issued the crucial whip for their MLAs. 

On the direction of the apex court, the Assembly Secretariat has called the session at 2 pm on Friday. The Secretariat released the agenda late on Thursday night.

However, before the session, Chief Minister Kamal Nath has called a press conference. This is considered important as he might make a big announcement amid all the political changes. 

So far, the numbers of the Assembly seems to favor the BJP, especially after the resignation of 16 more Congress MLAs was accepted by Speaker N.P. Prajapati on Thursday night. 

Out of the 230 MLAs in the Legislative Assembly, 24 seats are vacant. A majority in the House of 206 MLAs will require the support of 104 MLAs. The BJP has 107 MLAs, and Congress 92. The Congress has the support of the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party and Independent MLAs, which totals up to 99.
