KOLKATA: West Bengal's BJP President Dilip Ghosh verbally attacks state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for violating the lockdown orders on a daily basis. He also wondered why would people follow the law if she herself is not abiding by it.
Ghosh said, "All developed countries in the world are being turned into graveyards following the coronavirus infection. But still, the Chief Minister is coming out on the streets daily. There are people accompanying her."
"The Chief Minister need not distribute food on the street, need not try to educate people. The government officials are there, the clubs are there, the voluntary organizations are there. If the Chief Minister herself violates the law, why should people abide by it?" said the BJP leader further in a video message.
The Chief Minister is hitting the streets daily so as to monitor the situation in the state. She has been pulling up police officials for committing excesses in enforcing the lockdown orders. She has also been advising people on the importance of hand hygiene including hand sanitizers and demonstrating how all the buyers and sellers should maintain social distance.
