CHENNAI: The government of Tamil Nadu has decided to impose some relaxations in three cities of the state which includes Coimbatore, Chennai and Madurai. The lockdown will come to an end in these cities by Wednesday evening.
The Government issued a statement which said that the total lockdown in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore will come to an end on Wednesday i.e. today, April 29.
As per the government, the lockdown restriction which were imposed in these 3 cities will be eased and get reverted back to the status that was present on April 26.
The government said that in order to get essentials, the grocery stores will be opened for the public from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 30.
However, from 1 May, the shops will open from 6:00 am to just 1:00 pm.
The state also advised the individuals to follow social distancing protocols like wearing a mask at all costs when out and maintaining a distance when around people.
The strict norms amidst lockdown were announced in these cities by Chief Minister K Palaniswami on 24 April, especially in the cities of Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore.
There total tally of COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is currently 1,937 but the state has only observed 24 deaths by now.
