MUMBAI: After the immense success of the Manoj Bajpayee starrer series "The Family Man", Amazon Prime renewed the web series for its season 2. The second season of the Prime's original cop drama begins its shooting with Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni, who will be making her digital debut, on Thursday.
Filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK took to Twitter to announce the news. Along with a short clip, they wrote, "Season 2! Now filming!" Amazon Prime too shared the same video and wrote, "Right now Srikant is on a vacation with Suchi and kids but we promise he will be back soon!"

South actress Samantha Akkineni excitingly shared the same news and thanked the filmmaker duo for her "dream role". Taking to her Instagram handle, she wrote, "... #TheFamilyMan2 Yas finally... my web series debut with the most kicka** show @rajanddk my heroes. Thankyou for giving me a dream role."
"The Family Man" traces the life of a middle-class man, Srikant, who is considered a man with a boring government job by his family, but secretly lives an exciting life working for the National Investigation Agency. The initial season also starred Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Neeraj Madhav, Pawan Chopra, Kishore Kumar and Gul Panag in key roles.

The series received great reviews and that is why viewers cannot wait for its upcoming season. The release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
