MUMBAI: As celebrities are busy spreading positivity and joy to their fans amidst lockdown through their social media handles in order to hope for a better tomorrow, one of them has claimed that it's not always sunshine and happiness to be a part of a confined lifestyle for so long.
Richa Chadha has revealed how looking at the current situation of the world, with the death toll on the rise affected her mental health.
She said, "In the first week of the lockdown, I myself was getting depressed looking at the death toll of this lethal virus and those that are suffering because of the lockdown. It was giving me anxiety."
"So I decided to do something about it. While my donations for the underprivileged are ongoing, I wanted to create something that would make people smile," she continued.
She also emphasised, "Worrying about what's in the store could push us into a dark space. I am not making fun of the disease and it's impact, simply trying to highlight that even in these conditions, sometimes there's bizarre news that can make you chuckle despite yourself."
She also talked about the parody new series she began making during the national lockdown, "For reality and truth, there's the news but I wanted to make satire which would lift our collective spirits in these times."
Chadha was also supposed to get married to long time beau and actor Ali Fazal this year. Alas, due to the current global pandemic crises they had to postpone their wedding to the latter half of the year. Earlier the couple were to tie the knot during the month of April.
