Kapoor announced her coronavirus diagnosis in a post on Instagram but after days, she deleted it. The reason allegedly was due to the flak she received for her careless behavior as she partied with around 100 people after coming back from London.

One of her family members, who wished to remain unnamed, told news agency IANS, "We are now worried over the test reports. It seems that Kanika is not responding to treatment and in this lockdown, we cannot even airlift her for advanced treatment. We can only pray for her recovery."

Though tested positive for the fourth time, the doctors at Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) said that she is stable.

Kanika's diagnosis with COVID-19 was surrounded by a lot of controversies. It is alleged that the Bollywood singer escaped airport health security check through some other way with the help of some staff. She visited a number of people in Lucknow as well as Kanpur and came in contact with so many people at parties. Lucknow Police also booked her for negligence as she violated the guidelines and posed a threat to various other lives.
