MUMBAI: After wowing the audience with some of her stellar performances, actress Kangana Ranaut is all set to don a producer's hat. The Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi actress will be producing a movie titled 'Aparajitha Ayodhya' that will explore the Ram Mandir and Babri Masjid dispute case.
Telling about her new venture to a news publication, Kangana said, "The Ram temple has been a burning topic for hundreds of years. As a child born in the ’80s, I have grown up hearing the name Ayodhya in a negative light because the piece of land on which was born a king, who was the epitome of sacrifices, became the subject of a property dispute. The case has changed the face of Indian politics and the verdict has ended the centuries-old dispute while embodying the secular spirit of India."
The much-awaited verdict over the 2.77 acres of Ayodhya's land finally came on 9th November 2019. Ram Mandir got the disputed land whereas a separate land of 5 acres was given for the construction of the mosque.
Explaining why the movie will be an extraordinary one, Kangana said, "What makes Aparajitha Ayodhya different is that it is the journey of the protagonist from a non-believer to a believer. And since, in a way, it reflects my personal journey, I decided it would be the apt subject for my first production."
Although the actors have not been finalized for the project, it is being assumed that Kangana might also act in her first production venture.
In the title 'Aparajitha Ayodhya', the prefix 'Aparajitha' is used to show the nation's secularism and unity. Regarding the same, Kangana said, "Despite all efforts to wipe out our spirit of unity and secularism, we remain a nation of believers, we remain undefeated. Hence the prefix ‘Aparajitha’, which means the unvanquished."
