LOS ANGELES: Back in 2019, the news of the most awaited Friends reunion finally got announced after 25 years since the show stopped airing. It was the news that broke the internet as fans all over the world rejoiced at getting what they had always wanted for so long. The news became official on 21 February 2020 when all the cast members including Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer took to Instagram to share an extremely adorable picture of the most-loved squad with the caption 'It's happening'. It was alleged that the special reunion episode would be shot in two days, i.e. 23 March and 24 March in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, as the coronavirus outbreak has been declared a pandemic, the production of the reunion also suffered under its wrath. This is because the reunion special has now been delayed to keep in mind all the rules and regulation being passed to control the spread of the virus. It is also being reported the postponed shoot would now take place in the month of May.
The special was all set to be shot at the original soundstage where most of the episodes were shot from all the 10 seasons, Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio lot situated in Burbank, California. Not only the star cast, but all the executive producers and showrunners like Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane were coming together for this most-awaited reunion special. The project was to be directed by Ben Winston. He is also the co-executive producer of the talk show, 'The Late Late Show with James Corden'.
