The ‘find your love’ singer was faced with an embarrassing moment at the annual Camp Flog Gnaw festival at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles when he witnessed a hostile gesture by the audience.
On Sunday night, Drake had made a surprise appearance in front of an audience that was expectantly waiting for Frank Ocean. E-news reported that the fans were hoping to see Frank Ocean when Drake walked onto the stage in his stead.
Drake, innocent in all his, bore the brunt of the bitter crowd. Addressing the audience, in the middle of his song ‘Wu-Tang Forever’, the 33-year-old rapper said “Make some noise for yourself tonight. I am here for you tonight. If you want me to keep going, I will keep going. What’s up?”
His enthusiasm, however, was met by “boos” from the disgruntled crowd.
“If you want to keep going,” he said again, “I will keep going tonight”.
This time the “boos” broke into a clear “no” that the audience screamed loudly. The ‘In My Feelings’ singer took the hint and promptly left the stage. “It’s been love”, he said, as he left the stage, ending his performance 20 minutes early.
“I love you all. I go by the name Drake. Thank you for having me.”
Naturally (Hello 21st century), the clip of his short, 'unwanted' performance went viral and did not go down well with Drake fans.
They soon took to twitter to defend the singer.
Have a look at some tweets:
He made a surprise appearance and people made him feel like absolute shit for no reason & wouldn’t let him perform.
