MUMBAI: The audience simply cannot ignore the similarities between the movie ‘Bala’ and ‘Ujda Chaman’ but it seems Ayushmann is not worried about it. Both movies deal with men who are facing premature balding and are in search of a beautiful girl for marriage.

The first poster of Sunny Singh’s ‘Ujda Chaman’ had the tagline, “takle ki pehli aur original film” and now Ayushmann in a recent interview has presented his opinion about this clash. For the use of the word “takla”, the Badhai Ho actor has called it derogatory whereas his movie ‘Bala’ is all about self-love.

The actor said, “The word 'takla' is quite derogatory. It's not celebrating self-love. It isn't about just receding hair or baldness. It's about loving and discovering yourself more than anything else. We shot our film first, announced our film first. There's just one line which is similar otherwise it's a different film. I've seen the South film after we completed the shoot. Once you see the film you'll realise (the difference).”

Besides this clash, ‘Bala’ has been surrounded by several other controversies. Earlier, a writer claimed that the movie’s story was based on a script he narrated to Khurrana and now he has not been given any credit for his story. On this, Ayushmann said, “I got the same idea from six different people. I'll just go with the person who is more credible. There was a film called 'Hair is Falling' in 2011 and there were a lot of films which were made on receding hairline but just that they weren't successful. It's my decision to go with the best director, the best producer and choose the best script on the subject. As simple as that.”

Both the balding stories will release at the start of November. When asked if he is worried that both the movies have a back-to-back release date, Khurrana said, “It happened with 'Bhagat Singh' also. I'm really confident about our film, it's a beautiful film and one of the best scripts I've ever read. Anybody can come up with the same idea.”

‘Bala’ is slated to hit the big screens on 7th November while ‘Ujda Chaman’ will be releasing on 1st November. For which movie are you excited? Tell us in the comment section below.
