MUMBAI: The film 'Veere Di Wedding', was probably India's first-ever bold chick-flick. The film was highly appreciated and liked by the youth of the country despite the controversies it followed. It starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in lead roles as free-spirited young women who didn't give a damn about what the society thinks of them.
As the film proved to be a box office success, producers Ekta and Reha Kapoor had hinted towards adding a second instalment to the original and making it a franchise. Even Kareena Kapoor spoke positively regarding a sequel likely happening soon. After her, it is now Sonam who has also mentioned the chances of the sequel being shot soon.
When asked to spill the tea, the actress played coy and simply said, " don't know, you'll have to ask her (Rhea)." It was after a few seconds she added that her sister Rhea has asked her to be tight-lipped about the project.
A year ago, Rhea Kapoor, who is Sonam's sister as well as one of the co-producers of the film mentioned, "I think its gonna happen actually. It might happen sooner than I thought it would happen. But things look good. I am excited."
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor is doing projects like 'Angrezi Medium' and 'Lal Singh Chaddha'. Meanwhile, Sonam was last seen in 'The Zoya Factor', Swara Bhaskar will appear on the silver screen for her film festival acclaimed LGBT drama, 'Sheer Qorma'. Shikha Talsania will be seen in the soon to release comedy, 'Coolie No. 1'.
