Remember Jodha Akbar? The grandeur of Mughal India was given the voice of an expert storyteller. We see the Mughal King Akbar and Rajput Princess Jodha fall in love with the backdrop of war, drama, conceit, and beautiful costumes.

Ashutosh’s new movie ‘Panipat’ seems to be as promising and as big. The period drama is based on the third battle of Panipat which is considered to be one of the largest wars fought in the 18th century.

The movie will star Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali, Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau, Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai. The cast also includes veteran actress Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure, Mohnish Bahl, and Kunal Kapoor amongst others.

Sanjay Dutt’s first look as Ahmad Shah has been revealed. The actor looks fierce in his bulky armour as he gazes at what we can assume is the ongoing battle with his kohl-lined eyes.

Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai can be seen donning an attire befitting a Maratha queen, not unlike Priyanka’s Kashi Bai from ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

Sharing the first look on twitter, the actress wrote “Parvati Bai - A True Queen Needs No Crown. Panipat Trailer Out Tomorrow”
